strange noise
Hi,

I have a weird noise coming from left of centre of the dash (started yesterday) - it's a rattling, clattering, rasping type noise and seems to start at wind speeds above 30mph.

Things that don't seem to affect it:
different gears. different engine revs, engine under load, coasting, cornering, accelerating, braking, handbrake, heater settings, air direction , a/c, re-circulate, air directions.

Today, strong wind, driving at 30 mph into the wind - lots of rattling, turned round and drove 30 mph with the wind, no noise!

I've lifted the bonnet and can't see anything loose or flapping about.

any ideas as to what it might be?

Grease/oil the bonnet hinges, just to eliminate them before you get too involved.

They are responsible for a lot to creaks/squeals that seem to originate from the dash Wink Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Just read your post, for the last couple of weeks I have had a rattle originate from the inside of the dash on the left hand side, seems if I push the top of dash it makes a clonk further down inside the dash, if it were not under warranty I would attempt to have a look, though I will wait and see if it disappears, as is the case sometimes.
