1988 Defender 90 200 Tdi CSW Bronze Green

Engine mount holes on a 300tdi

Hi guys

I know on a 300tdi engine the 4 holes on either side of the block where they would be on a 200tdi block for the engine mounts are there but are they threaded like on a 200tdi as I broke a 300tdi disco once and although the holes where covered in cack I thought they was threaded but I have hered that they aren't, the reason I ask is that I have been watching a mint 2.5 petrol on ebay with good chassis and bulkhead infact most 300tdi 90's tend to be in worse nick than most 2.5 petrols so as I have done a S2A petrol to 200tdi before and owned a couple of 300tdi disco's in the past thought a 300tdi conversion wouldn't be two hard what do you think, oh and if they are not threaded can they be threaded

Nice one, well Manchester as not that far from Mansfield so I will start looking for it round here if not I will drive to Mansfield for it when I get my defender

Doh sorry mate though I read it as Mansfield, yeah up until a couple of months ago I used to own a static caravan in perranporth but sold it to part fund a defender 90

I think it's largely to do with moving the engine around in the factory. When I got my new 200tdi from turner's, it was bolted to the crate/cage using some of these otherwise redundant holes

Does anyone have any pics of both 200tdi and 300tdi engines of both sides of each engine please just want to see how the engine mount holes are on both engines aswell as to see how the oil filters are situed on both engines aswell
