I am a huge Memory Map fan, but have never used it on the iPad! An engine to TDi for!

iPads works well inside vehicle with or without a case as long as you have a good mount
We use Memorymap and find it is good. A friend of ours highly rates Viewranger. Brendan |

I have memory map on ipad/phone, mac/pc and Addroid - they all work well no problems. I think there are other programs that might have more functions (certainly on the mobile devices) but it does at least work. The android app has a nice function where you can have both the map and info screen showing, which is handy if you are following a route/track as the direction arrow works well. The latest Memory maps are encrypted so you can't use them on some of the other apps where you used to be able to (I think they are trying to stop people 'borrowing maps') Considering its big here and in australia (that I know of) the mobile memory map apps don't get much in the way of regular upgrades, but I guess if it aint broke don't fix it. DJ PS if you don't already have an ipad you are probably better off buying an android tablet purely for Memory Map as they are peanuts compared to a gps equipped ipad, plus I think the app is better on android. 1989 200tdi 90 csw 2011 110 usw Orkney grey Buy British 🇬🇧 Defender Clothing Designs available at http://www.rangesports.com/acatalog/Defender-Stuff.html |

I use MemMap on my iPad, Android phone (actually MMtracker which reads mm maps) and on my PC.
I sync the Routes, Tracks, Waypoints directories using Dropbox on all devices so I can create a route on my PC then load it on my iPad or phone. Equally I can recorded tracks on phone or iPad and review them on the PC. All seamless and nicely integrated. In the Defender I have a Ram Mount and a Griffin case for the iPad...bullet proof so far. The Griffin case is generally waterproof and protects against knocks etc. Cheers Simon |

Sadly MM Tracker no longer available on Play store for Android. Just downloaded Alpinequest which reads memory map (qct) maps but not sure if there is an iPad version, think it is Android only.

Ah right, I only noticed something called memory map on there and didn't really look at it.
*from your screenshot you can see what I meant by the reviews are not particularly great, perhaps people don't know how to use it instead No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª Last edited by custom90 on 25th Oct 2013 9:34pm. While MMtracker isn't available from the Store, you can find it via a Google search...better functionality than the official app. I do use the official MemMap app on the iPad. Cheers Simon |

I use ViewRanger for iPad and iPhone, i've used MM and i'm not a big fan of the iOS apps, the user interface is just too clunky for me.
ViewRanger has some nice features, especially the route sharing on MyViewRanger - great for organising group trips! Also, it has a BuddyBeacon option, you can send your passcode protected location and search for other users if you have their passcode, very good for managing groups and finding out where your mates are. I believe it has a big following with Mountain Rescue Teams. http://www.viewranger.com A sample route of mine http://www.my.viewranger.com/route/details/NjUzOQ== Sandy |
