rear door hinge on td5
erm,

i came to replace my rear door hinge brass balls and after ordering what i thought would be the right pin replacement kit, i found out that the hinges are a solid piece and the only access to the pivot is underneath. i.e. it is not the normal pin with a flat head on the top and bolt that goes on the bottom.

Mine is a late 56 reg td5, so is it a wierd discrepancy or are these just different hinges or what, anybody know?

Yes, these are the later type hinge which is correct for your year of vehicle and is the type currently fitted to the latest Puma. You could fit a complete early type hinge if you wanted ones that you could rebuild when worn or even just to hear that hard to describe but instantly recognisable noise that they used to make when you opened the back door!
