As above.
Anyone fitted an interior light that dimly shines over the dash so you can see it? I keep jumping in the defender after being in my D3 and miss the middle section illuminated. Would be quite handy as have extras that would be good if i could see as the normal roof light would be too bright. TD5 and TDCI im looking at doing. |

the SVX's had a special cubby box with 2 forward facing lights which i guess would do the same job.
Unfortunately they're like hen's teeth. ![]() Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

A couple of LEDs of the correct intensity would do the job, you could mount then wherever you want the lighting to fall

Ideally I'd like to replicate the D3 so having it from roof down. Would it be possible to take it off feed for light?

not 100% sure what you what tbh, do you just want light when a door is open and just after closing like the standard lights?
surely you don't want a light on when driving? (that would be annoying?!) Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

just re-read your question, think i get it.
you want to see the controls etc at night a little? never had that problem in my tdci, everything is backlit (i think, quite nicely!) is the td5 dash not backlit? not noticed it in dads D4 but may be different Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

What willyj is after is waterfall/submarine lighting. The little LEDs that illuminate at a very low level.

My shogun used to have one of these, a small amber LED mounted up by the mirror, and a couple in each footwell. Only just visible but enough to stop it from being pitch black.
You could turn them off with the interior light switch. Was ok, i usually had it "off" as I like it dark inside, but SWMBO liked them on. ![]() |

Get what you mean now, mums RR has it in the mirror too...
Tbh I think there are more pressing problems to solve with the defender ![]() Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

Exactly what martin said.
The faint waterfall type light is what im after. ... More pressing problems to solve with the defender? I dont know on earth what you could possibly mean... ![]() (Apart from the new turbo waiting to go on, new steering box and window motors) Wil |
