A quick search has yielded no results, so I apologise if this is a duplicate n00b post, but:
I am wondering which model of gearbox (e.g. R380) and transfer box (e.g. LT230) are fitted to a 2010MY Defender TDCi 110'? I ask because I have a transmission guard on the bottom of my Defender which (possibly) is making my transfer box run hotter than it otherwise would be (it gets very hot!). I took it the the main dealer and they (obviously) 'could not find a problem with it', but main dealers are notoriously sh12. Anyway, Rocky Mountain Spares (http://www.rockymountainspares.co.uk/?page_id=41) sell a transfer box cooler which has fins and also increases the oil capacity, thereby aiding cooling. However, I don't think it is compatible with a Defender 2. Even the salesman I called doesn't know! Anyone have any ideas? A Modern-Day Explorer Twitter: @ModernDayXplore |

There's no reason why it shouldn't fit. The transfer box is exactly the same as on earlier models. However, several people have complained about hot transmissions and subsequently found they'd been overfilled. Maybe worth a look. Darren

Definitely doesnt fit It will fit the Transfer Box, but as dgardel says the Exhaust is in the way and there isn't much space to relocate it unless someone can do some fancy pipework for the exhaust

That's a real shame, as I think it'd be a pretty good mod for any Defender: would put years on the life of a LT230. A Modern-Day Explorer Twitter: @ModernDayXplore
