United Kingdom 1984 Defender 90 V8 Petrol CSW Auto Keswick Green
[For Sale] 4.3 TVR- engined flying machine
Hello peeps!

my good friend Colin has just finished restoring his 90 and wants to move onto the next project - a 50th Anniversary model - so he has very reluctantly put it up for sale.

The car is a 1994 90, convertible, and has just undergone full restoration works at Derek Allfrey Landrovers in Sussex.
The car is there if anyone wants to view it

Works consisted of the following:

1 remove body, strip down and prepare for paint
2. overhaul entire chassis, strip back, fit new rear crossmember repaint and waxoil.
3. remove axles and replace with rebuilt range rover items - 2-inch lower sports suspension kit.
4. renew entire braking system, with copper lines throughout and vented 4-pots on front. solid 2-pots on rear, performance pads.
5. Fit brand new Ashcroft LT85 HD 5-speed manual box and 1.2 ratio transfer box in GWO
6. Install low-mileage (known engine) 4.3-litre TVR Big-valve manic screaming bonkers motor with Ashley racing headers, AP racing clutch, rolling road-tuned OH MY GOD is this really a defender? - running hotwire.
7 Custom stainless twin exhausts exiting either side of the towbar - sounds like a screaming Nascar.
8 New 4-core HD radiator with twin kenlowe fans.
9. Quality repaint in beautiful Stornoway grey
10. BODY-colour KBX grille and headlight surrounds, new front bumper with DRL's
11 Angel eye headlights, NAS LED rears, LED fronts.
12 NAS rear step, genuine Puma bonnet.
13.Beautifully-crafted rear side-opening door with smooth external finishes.
14 5 x 20-inch direct-fit silverline MANTEC alloys in SATIN BLACK with Cooper Zeon Tyres - cost over 2k.
15 Bulkhead removal and bar fitted with new rear roll bars system and new black hood.
16. RECARO sports front seats in dual-tone grey/black leather, with quilting in centres and highlighted stitching, matching lockable cubby box.
17 Inward facing seats in matching leather x 4 with inertia lap belts
18 fully sound-deadened and brand new top-grade matting in front and carpets in rear.
19 additional gauges, rev counter etc.
20 heated seats and windscreen
21. blue ambient lighting throughout
22. Electric windows
23 Central locking
24 Brand new Sigma Cat 1 alarm with motion sensors.
23 Integrated satnav/stereo/ bluetooth - Alpine I believe.
24 Battery isolator and remote jump system.
25 Momo boss and alcantara steering wheel
26 aluminium gear and transfer box knobs

Much more besides - too much to list.

The car has a full MOT and is taxed - to all intents and purposes it is a new car.

The engine has a known history and is a very special piece of kit indeed.

Well over thirty thousand pounds has gone into this car and if I didn't have my 6.3 chevy-engined monster I would be buying it.

The car is undergoing final detailing at the moment - viewing is essential - test drives will be carried out by Mr Derek Allfrey who will show you the full performance on offer.

Colin is asking a very reasonable 18k - or offers VERY near to that figure.

To arrange a viewing please call Colin(07967 038271) or Victor(07900 300974)

Pictures will be added when the car has been detailed.

haha im 18 Wink ill post a photo of myself in dads RR and see what they think.. maybe to wind them up ill ask a stupid question along with the picture..?

maybe something like: "how do i lock the front differential in my RR tdv8? i want to drive over some gravel at the weekend, what tires should i use?"

maybe that would sufficiently cause them to have a breakdown!

Back to the OP - griffman, that looks epic! if i was wealthier id be all over that! wow... Cheers, David

One of the clothheads on landyzone asked where the front badge was

I replied that it had been sent away to have a solid gold replica made to finish it off

'Light blue touchpaper and stand well back'............................

Just to balance it up, LandyZone's membership is twenty times the size of this one and I'd say it's weighted away from later models of Defenders and the associated 'pimping' phenomenon, so the chances of that forum having people that dislike the 90 are considerably higher than on here. Most of them can spell 'tyres' too.

Good shout to advertise it on there though as with every comment, it gets bumped back up the top again Thumbs Up

To be fair to the guys in LZ, at least one of them was undecided as to whether you were a t055er or not, before the ad got pulled. That made oi larf Laughing

Remind me again how great that site is? Anyone?
