Vouchers weren't being given to the right people, or we're ending up on eBay.

Obviously not all dealers, but enough to mess it up for the rest. My Disco 'best bits'

Have a rummage on landrover.co.uk and book yourself a factory visit, you'll love it!

Why would I want to pay for that? (except for the travel cost). I first paid a pretty full Swiss price for the privilege of owning a SVX, and have been a well above average main dealer LR customer ever since.
Many moons ago, when I was still living in Belgium and still driving Volvos, my then dealer had the decency of inviting me to visit the Volvo assembly plant in Gent, Belgium. Very well organized, including transport to and back, including lunch, and a nice 2 hours tour of the entire assembly line. That is what I call cutomer service, don't think LR dealers care about that too much now. Last thing I would do out of principle is pay £45 or more myself for their attempt at customer bonding..... Short sighted I think they are. Whistle
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Hi, did you buy through the forces discount scheme? An awesome scheme for getting a cheaper Land Rover (one of the few perks for todays armed forces) the only downside being the dealers only make about £0.50 on the vehicle so are very reluctant to offer any freebies!

It might be a bit of a journey, but Roger Youngs are BOB ON and love Skimmers, Sun Dodgers and Airy Fairies! Thumbs Up

Mr. Green Good to hear from you Sun dodger - hope all is well beneath the waves. No I didnt see the forces discount but I think I had a good deal on my purchase (I hope Rolling Eyes ).

I should have gone home (across the Tamar) and done the deal on hallowed ground I guess. Mistakenly thought this well known dealer would have supplied better service especially given the group started off in Helston and still bank there! Oh well I guess I can make it up by getting the service done in Cornwall Very Happy

I will ring the dealer (again) when I get home to get the number to ring and book up my place on the experience day.

Just out of interest does anybody elses defender get wet in the left hand foot well when ever it rains? My wife has taken to wearing wellies whenever using the Def in the wet now Neutral

Thanks everybody for your help and advice Thumbs Up

Yep, mine does (09 XS SW). It's pretty common. There's quite a few threads here on it -- one popped up recently named "Leak!" if I recall right that had links to old and new water ingress service manuals.

Unless it's under warranty, in which case it's something the dealer can look at. Mind you, mine just replaced the door seals, and clearly the original dealer had a bash at sealing various bits ... somewhat unsuccessfully Smile

EDIT: belatedly realising yours is brand new ... dealer, I reckon, although take a look over the leak-related threads you can find.

I had to chase the sales team in Aberdeen, not sure it was down to that but my invite arrived shortly after. Probably about 4 weeks after collecting the defender. I do appear to have some water in my left front footwell but could be off the dog, wellies or might be a leak. Rubber mats are doing the same job as a bucket!
