thanks Ray.
don't you just love em. this I'll be the second replacement to that door in less than 6 years (know any other car manufacturers that regularly have to replace central locking issues - I don't?) I'm guessing it would be easy to test the solenoid....just need to know which pins to apply 12V. can anyone enlighten me? many thanks, |

solenoid has arrived so I'll be fitting tonight and putting door card back on .....just hope it was the solenoid and not the wiring
anyhow I noticed last night the hand brake light has also stopped working - just so happens the CHT sensor is disconnected and the door solenoid aint' working ....must be coincidence as they can't be connected in any way - can they? unfortunately this is my 3rd one but on the + side they're only about £20 each so I guess that's no worse that perhaps having a German one last about 6 years but cost about £80 ? It's all relative....I think some of our complaints should be put into perspective - bumpers corroding after 2 or 3 years.....but they only cost about £40 to replace so I guess that's probably acceptable? |

It's like music to my ears now...a quick sharp clunk rather than the moaning groaning similar to that of its owner
A bit cold out there tonight fitting and cleaning and adjusting things. Sorry go price wrong - I remember being chuffed at 20 something....£29.16....+vat. So £34.99 all in. Still no bad huh? |

which door was it for and do you have a part number?
Edit: just read it was the drivers door but would still like the part no if you have one Ray My build thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17615.html |

Morning Ray.
I presume from the paperwork the part no is LFUD500020? Description of n/stk switch - alarm? They also quoted £62 +vat . 4no glow plugs which I thought was very reasonable. Anyhow last night was very successful : working door lock, hand brake adjusted very slightly and hand brake light wiring repaired....and a runny nose. |
