Could just be a pebble stuck in the tyre being fired into the wheel arch.
Makes a hell of a bang, especially if you have mud tyres as they hold bigger pebbles |

Could well be, never thought of that, they are fairly chunky. It's not undersealed yet either !

I get the same loud bang from stones flying up from underneath.
Didn't get it with my td5 because it had carpets and it dampened the noise. But these new ones with no carpets puts the willies up me when it goes bang |

I remenber the first trip out with wife and kids and a stone was flung from one of the rear tyres, they all nearly jumped out of their skins anyways they are used to it know.

Now i know what it is, i can relax.
Had everything go through my head from kids with air rifles ??? Glass in the door about to break, back cab top about to come off, people throwing pebbles . Thanks for letting me know! Scares the s..t out of you on a dual carriage way at night ! |
