We saw one leave its car down at Portsmouth docks a few years ago.
We were waiting to board a ferry when a car and caravan drove over a speed bump, the caravan just "popped off"!

Apparently they had driven quite a distance with the hitch just sat on top of the ball Shocked

Makes you wonder about the breakaway cable! They had probably just looped it over the ball like some people still do Shocked

If you look closely, it seems that the hitch has snapped off the caravan. It also looks like the hand brake lever is partially raised, but difficult to tell. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Jockey wheel is down that's why it rolled and not nose dived into the tarmac, the handbrake appears to have been pulled on by the brake away cable, why didn't it stop ? probably not maintained. Someone didn't hitch up properly.

Oh I have towed caravans for 30 years and have seen that happen before last time on the M1. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.
