Anyone installed a Road Hawk
Looking at getting a road hawk fitted to the new defender, thinking of removing the rear view mirror and mounting it there.

Where is the best place to take an ignition live from? THere is the HU but the installation kit comes with a 5 meter cable so I could take it from anywhere (drivers seat box).

The other alternative is the interior light, is that permanent or switched live?

Whats a Road Hawk? I'm assuming some sort of accident camera? Where ever you take your power from would avoid the interior lighting system it's more complicated than it looks.

Yeah, road hawk is an accident camera. They're in all the fleet vehicles at work and for the money are brilliant.

A few years ago I had a van drift into my lane and I ended up with £350 repair bill. His word against mine. Then I had a driver pull out of a stationary line of traffic and do a U turn in front of me resulting in me hitting him at 40 (glancing blow). Luckily he was honest about it but if he'd decided to do the same as a van driver I'd have lost 8 years no claims bonus.
