Safety Devices rack / Patriot ladder question

I was looking at the Safety Devices Explorer roof rack, but don't think the ladder will fit with the step bumper fitted. (I've emailed the to check, but no answer yet...)

I like the look of the Patriot rack, but its quite a bit more money. One of the things I like about it, is that the ladder goes right up to the rack, not just the gutter.

So, the question is - does anyone know if the Patriot ladder will line up with the bar on a Safety Devices rack?
