Question? Regarding mains power INSIDE Land Rover.
I have a cTec charger that I use to top up/recon the battery in my 90 via a permanent 12v socket. This works well, BUT the 90 lives outside all the year. Until now I pass a mains extension into the vehicle via an open vehicle and lock the vehicle with the key to disable the volumetric alarm.
Any suggestions for an external mains socket and plug for the extension lead that is small and unobtrusive that I could fit to get mains power to the battery charger while locking the vehicle with ALL alarms functioning. Any suggestions/links much appreciated. Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH

I've seen caravan mains plugs mounted on the side if defenders

Or put one in a wing top with a cover

There is a handy extension that goes in a towing socket (if you have one) and its available from the d3 section of the forum shop. That would do the job nicely.

Thanks Warpig and djhutton. The problem with that is that the charger is then outside the vehicle and in the weather etc:. I do not have a garage but do have an external/weather sealed power socket. My idea was Mains lead to vehicle socket. Vehicle socket to a 13amp domestic socket in back of vehicle to plug charger in and be able to lock vehicle with all alarms on. The external caravan mains socket, mentioned by bpman, could work but tend to be fairly large and so the problem is where to put it, or is there something smaller and waterproof? Bow down LANDYWATCH

Any decent motorhome or caravan supplies / accessories place will be able to supply a suitable socket which can be mounted somewhere tucked away or with an enclosure in which to house it that can be let into any flat panel.

If you look at Jasons build at this link (you may need to page down a bit) you can see how he put a mains connection to his 110.

Have you thought about putting the Ctek charger in a weatherproof box, running the Ctek extention lead to your vehicle and connecting through a 12s towing connector to your battery.
The caravan 240v plugs and sockets are not weather proof just splash proof. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Any thoughts about this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380642469662?ssP...1438.l2649

Could be fitted in the large hole in the rear cross member. The mains extension cable is already serviced by a very sensitive Earth Trip Detector and as it would be switched on after connection should be safe? Although I can wire plugs etc: I'm no qualified electrician. Whistle LANDYWATCH

I fitted a "Binder Connector" to the rear (visible above the number plate light) for the mains supply. Inside the vehicle a ground fault interrupter, inverter and battery charger.

That's it VeeTee. Do you have a link to where you sourced it? Been looking on-line but have yet to find the same plug and socket. Any info much appreciated. Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH

Thanks VeeTee, unfortunately it is not a retail site and their retail partners do not seem to have all the parts in stock. Will phone one of them on Monday. Thumbs Up LANDYWATCH
