My first post having lurked here for a while...
My recently acquired 2013 110 USW has an SVX grille installed by the previous owner. Click image to enlarge As others have mentioned in this thread, I'm not keen on the "outy" look and want to revert to a more classic look like this, I guess colour matched (Santorini)..
It's not clear to me what I need to purchase to do this though. Do I need anything in addition to the classic grille and headlight surrounds? In particular the lower stainless grille or the air con grille surround? Also, any experience of Britpart grille parts here? I'd normally go for genuine parts, but would seem to be *very* pricey to revert to classic look with genuine parts here. Thanks! |

You may find someone who wants and SVX grille (I don't), who's willing to do a part ex for their standard stuff.

You have good taste! Swapping the grille and light surrounds is easy, even I managed it! Santorini sets seem to go for silly money. It might be easier to pick up a secondhand set and paint yourself. I've got two sets in the garage I picked up for about £35 each, which I keep planning to paint, just never get round to it. Lovely Defender! Being black I'll just leave this here for inspiration! My current fav black... Are you sure it’s a proper six grille as from your pics it looks to me like an after market grille that fits to a standard surround. Some closer better pics of your set up might help Ray

Having had a look around this evening, I think you're right - its an aftermarket SVX style grille.
Here are some pics.. Next question.. any idea if I have the necessary headlight parts, or am I going to need body and gasket behind the headlamp? |

Have a look at the pictures in the link that dgardel posted above. Yours has been converted in exactly the same way as he did his and is completely reversible with the plastic grill parts and headlight fixings. There are no gaskets involved.
Yes, you will need the grill surround. I'm not so sure that what you have is aftermarket. Looks like the proper kit to me Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? From the original photos I thought the surround looked separate to the grille but obviously not Ray

you'll need to ensure the front grill panel is the aircon type; and also you'll need new side and indicator lights; possible different headlights. (Could get pricey)
You'd be able to sell your SVX parts on very easily later to recoop the cost. |
