Well I'm sat in Nigeria at the moment. In fact I came through the airport the same day as the poor guy from Liberia.
At the moment it's quite calm here, lots of people worrying. Incubation period of 2-21days so if its here we'll be expecting to see sings of it in the next week or so. The difficulty is educating people about it. We've held the meetings explaining the ins and out of it all. Already there are texts going around about local remedies, eat this, eat that etc. We've even had some of our team believing that eating certain nuts will stop you getting it. And that's the problem, superstitions and certain beliefs. It's getting past all that to the hard actual facts. That and the hygiene issues. |
