An amazing product! Literally gets every spec of anything off the paintwork. Be prepared to spend up to 3 hours clay barring it and possibly buy an additional bottle of auto Glym rapid detailed spray (the lubricant for the clay bar) as you will go through a fair bit.
Beware afterwards you will want people keep rubbing their hands across the paint to feel the smoothness. and then tell them off for leaving greasy marks on your handiwork. Top bit of kit and you can really see the difference between just washing and then clay barring it =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

FYI you will need to wax and/or polish it afterwards as it takes all that off (you can see it coming off as it turns the lubricant a whitish colour). It takes it back to pure, out of the factory paintwork but leaves a great surface to get a good quality wax/polish on and reap the rewards of your efforts with an awesome shine.
Apologies I'm a bit anal about this kinda thing can you tell? Saying that it doesn't stop cat claw scratches on the wing tops =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

Ypu want to clay a defender ! You'll need about 6-9 hours free then I coated only one car before and gave up. It worked brilliantly but I lost a whole weekend to it. Rinse, foam, rinse, foam, sponge, rinse, dry, clay, polish, wax . Looked immense ! But im never gonna detail my cars again after that lol. Although I know I should do it to my defender atleast once a year plates off and all that
Very cheap for the outcome too 15 qiid for clay and spray can't go wrong really give it a go. Most people only clay impact areas |

Thanks all for you positive comments!
Lish- You do sound quite the expert, but I wouldn't say anal Anybody know how much of the bar it takes to do a Defender? I've been roped into doing all 3 Land Rover vehicles, the Defender probably being the smallest An engine to TDi for! "Land Rover- Proudly turning drivers into mechanics since 1948" |

Haha it's an awkward word that, but accurate for the description.
I did the 110 with approximately half a golf ball size. Pressed flat it should be about the size of the palm of your hand. All you do is when one side of the surface gets grimy, use the other, then screw it up into a ball again, flatten out and continue. There are some instructions in the Auto Glym pack =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

Also be careful you don't drop the clay. If you do it's only fit for the bin. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

I would only clay in the shade, only because the lube dries out if your in the sun and it takes more to do the job and if it goes dry then its a pain to get the scuff off.
I will be de-tarring, claying, 3 stage machine polish and hand waxing my defender when it comes back from paint William |

I've also used soapy water as the lubricant, which seems as good as the detailing fluid, but happy to be proved wrong...
Definitely a great way to make the car look good. I also got a dual action polisher and its done a very good job of taking out the scratches from laning...! Cheers Simon |

You shouldn't use washing up liquid on a car, it's very salty. Use hand soap (from a pump bottle) instead. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
