No answer for you but very jealous of your extended sand driving - is that a trip up the Queensland coast or Fraser island by any chance?

Is the traction control on a Defender the same as that on a Discovery, that it applies the brake on the opposite side,or does it just cut the fuel (as it does on most cars)??

The traction control essentially applies the brake to a spinning wheel so that the diff can still send power to the one with grip. Darren

Hi, planning to head up to do Googs Track(about 140ks long sandy track running n/s) about 700ks west of Adelaide(home base) Probably best to google it for more detail.I can pm itinery if you are interested, maybe some pics. Problem with traction control in these conditions is that it is better to keep momentum at the expense of spinning wheels otherwise t/c kicks in and causes brakes to come on and forward momentum is lost So being able to switch it on and off at wil would be handy.

I've driven one of Kankku's defenders where theyd installed a switch. I believe it was just a switch wired into the fuse circuit for the tc/abs system. The most info I can give im afraid. 2003 Defender 90 Td5 CSW Belize Green - "Betty"
