Call home audio experts
Currently have an old Hifi that has a turntable and tape deck as well as CD / Radio,
Now have a new TV with optical out socket. The old hifi does not have optical in.
So....I picked up a Sony Surround system DAV S-300 from Ebay with 5 speakers and sub. But made a mistake as it didn't have optical in. Sad

A mate has a Sherwood Amp he is selling (not sure of the spec/Model) So I am thinking of buying this if the price is right and has optical in and use the speakers that came with the Ebay system.

Would these speakers be suitable for use as standard Hifi speakers i.e listening to CDs/Radio etc when driven through the Sherwood 1999 Defender TD5 110

Look on amazon for an optical to digital co-ax converter unit - small and cheap and should sit nicely between the tv and the sony unit ...
