Sounds like a dodgy new door or a rubbish body shop to me
Edit: that's if your motor has no previous accident damage |

I have the same problem with the drivers door on my new 90 plus a gap along the bottom that you could drive a normal car through
When I changed the doors on the TD5 I had to play with the shims under the hinges on the door side to get them reasonably aligned. Looking at mine I reckon that removing one of the shims from the top hinge on the door side will pull the top of the door out and push the bottom edge in. That's the theory, just got to get round to doing it. I could get the dealer to do it, it is in Friday to have the other rear caliper replaced, but I want to sort the bottom gap as well so that I can fit the CP sills without them catching the door. If two doors haven't fitted it is more likely the aperture's the wrong shape not the door, or the hinges need settling.
If shimming the hinges doesn't sort it, careful bending is probably the answer. A good bodyshop should be able to sort it (but as far as I know most LR dealers subcontract bodywork). As an aside, you gotta love smartphones! I noticed just in time for once it had changed "bodyshop" to "bookshop"! |
