South Africa 2010 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 SW Alpine White
2013 Range Rover at Land Rover Experience
Hi all,

So not quite a Defender, but anyway.

Drove the 2013 RR at Land Rover Experience today. Very impressive, considering it had 21 inch road tyres.

The interior is absolutely stunning, and the off-road behaviour is very good, most of the time you cannot even tell that you are driving off-road.

The v8 Supercharged is a beast though, very powerful, so one has to be careful with the loud pedal Very Happy

After the course we opened the bonnet to have a look, and all were surprised to see that the oil spec is 5w20!? --

I agree, it went over stuff that I'd have been working my defender fairly hard on, with ease.

I've no doubt a well driven defender could go a bit further, but with a massage seat, huge rims and a sofa smooth ride going over some tricky terrain was impressive! Cheers, David

That's an interesting point that I've been thinking about recently. Ignoring finances and with similar tyres, would a defender get further than a RR and if so, why?

Possibly because of it's better angles / clearance (slightly) but mostly I suspect due to the fact that you wouldn't want to 'squeeze past a tree or bush in a RR!' Cheers, David
