Have a look at this thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic12989....p;start=30
Looks as standard, but much thicker. I ordered one as well, following this thread and had mine galvanised and powder coated - looks great. When I finally get around to fitting it - I'll post lots of pictures. |

I'll try & put some pics up tomorrow for you.
We cut out the centre section and fabricated a box the side plates of which include horizontal mounting to the chassis, there is also support to the underside of the front crossmember to stop the whole thing tilting forward under load. The original bumper ends were then welded back to the new winch box. The winch is low profile so we cut out the front panel for the winch to sit back into. |

I bought this Mantec one http://www.mantec.co.uk/images/products/fu...0A-BAr.jpg
A lot stronger than OE. You do need to have a shorter spool drum winch to fit however. Mine is a Goodwinch KDS, bought second. Thanks guys. Im interested in making something myself. I had a tubular winch bumper on the 110, i liked it i just thought it looked to heavy and bulky. I bought a standard bumper a month a go and ive mounted my 20" rigid industries lightbar too it. Im trying to keep the weight low on the front end.
I was also thinking about getting a steering guard which has a receiver hitch built in. So i could use the winch on the rear as well as the front check out the link; http://www.extreme4x4.co.uk/acatalog/DEFEN...EIVER.html |
