Blanking purpose? Why might we do this? HP gain? how much?

To keep the crud associated with recycled exhaust gasses out of the inlet manifold. It's not, strictly speaking, a performance mod - it's more of a 'preventing performance reduction' measure. Darren

Well in my case it made the engine appear to 'breathe' better (along with an intercooler flush and new 'de catted' exhaust).
After many hours dicking around trying to get the thing off, this mega bodge is how I've attached the blanking plate
