I looked at a set a while ago for a different issue and the consensus was don't go new as they are horribly dear instead find a certified Bosch service shop and get them rebuilt it is still dear but about half the cost also they will be able to tell which are bad rather than just replacing them all. Also is the smoke only when cold or all the time and how white is it? Steam white or light gray? Could be valve stem oil seals if it is light gray? Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I paid £75 each for reconditioned injectors from Bearmach. I think new Bosch injectors are about £125 each.
So basically, make sure it is your injectors at fault before shelling out that kind of money. |

lambert, the smoke is when warm mainly, it does'nt do it straight from start up, i get the usual quick puff of black when you first start, and yes it is more grey than white really.
I ran it to an engine specialist that i know locally and he said that the injectors seem to be not 'atomising', he had'nt taken any out or anything he was just stood looking at what was going on with the smoke. Just spoken to local dealer and they have quoted £81.73 for re-con or £208.30 for new, each, so time to do some testing to source the problem....... Dave

I had mine replaced here in Finland a year ago, they were about 80 quid each, new. Recon ones were close to the same price so I decided to get new ones and let the wrokshop recon them and sell as used parts. Good deal for both of us.

Ring these people. Bought re-manufactured injectors from them a number of times. Think the last set of 200tdi ones I bought was around £200 all in |

Cheers for that digger, but my fault I should have put the 'news' on here as to what my outcome was.......
It was the head gasket just starting, it hadn't got hot or anything of that nature just started smoking so after investigation properly I set about the strip down and rectified the job and did a couple of other little bits along the way so all sorted now and running better than ever !!
