My iPod shut down once when we were in the Caribbean, I had to put it in the mini bar in the room to get it working again.

Had that with my iphone. Bought a holder that clips to the heater vent. Got a bit chilly, turned heater up, lowered window (I like hot feet and fresh air) and the vent was heating the phone directly. Got the same message.
