Number 4 injector went again at the weekend, fitted a "new one" (more about that later) from paddocks in February and have only done 1500-2000 miles since. I know its the injector as i get the code "peak charge long" as well as "open circuit" and from my understanding that is the injector and not anything else?
As for the "new" injector, the ones on the paddock web site say brand new from delphi but it didnt come with any delphi packaging, does this sound right to you? I rang to question it but they insisted it was a new one and thats how they come, i needed a injector and nobody else could get one at that time for a few weeks so i fitted it. Now its failed so soon im not sure it was new or if it was a recon, guess i have no way to prove it. So just in case im wrong, does anybody else know of another reason for the peak charge long code (27-04)? There is no oil in the ECU before anybody says that lol. Many thanks. Pete. |

You sure it's failed, or just a bad connection on top.

Agree with Martin (especially after my TC/ABS shenannigans over the weekend) 'bell out' or get someone to do it for you the injector loom with a multimeter and/or an insulation tester. Remember to disconnect it from the ECU beforehand to prevent parallel paths and damage to the ECU in the case of an insulation tester.
Good luck. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Wiring all checks out ok. And unless somebody says different then the peak charge long code would only come with a fault in the injector, if it was a wiring fault i would only be getting the open circuit fault?

Pete, What effect would a short circuit to earth or short circuit between conductors have on the system? I know on TC/ABS it thinks that wheel is spinning slower than the rest and brakes the rest accordingly....No fault codes get thrown up either as it doesn't actually see a fault. PITA to find. An insulation tester will find a short circuit that a normal multimeter won't! Just an idea perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Well a new injector came this morning, totally different packaging to the last one and my local parts guy said its the correct type for a delphi injector this time. I will fit it later and see what happens.
