Steering wheel/column that can be lengthened backwards?
Are there any makes of steering wheel that have a conical shape, distancing the rim from the dashboard.

Alternatively, or as well, an extension to the steering column. I only want extra length of, say, 4 inches, so when I push the seat back fully arm stretch stays the same as standard, which I'm happy with. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

I've found that installing a quick release mechanism behind the wheel does the job. You can get them between 2" and 5" thick plus you have the added advantage of another security level. They are between £25 and £200, but I would go for around £100. I got mine from Demon Tweaks.
