Chaps - anyone got any tips?
I need to stay in London (with a friend) on the evening of Saturday 4th Oct, as I'm cycling the Palace-to-Palace Ultra on the Sunday (starting 7am). We had considered staying out-of-town (i.e. near the finish line at Windsor), but the public transport system doesn't start early enough to get to the start line reliably. So I'm ideally looking for accommodation near The Mall near Admiralty Arch on Trafalgar Square. Anyone got recommendations??? Ideally a twin room under £100, just to crash-out the night before... Just tell them that you're the strippers and they'll give you beds for free!

0700 in the morning - an early start - hence unable to get into London from outside in time (had fancied a B&B near the finish line, but being a Sunday, the trains etc aren't running early enough). Jomara - thanks for the tip - off to investigate now Tiger - YHA is an option, there's also a private hostel I was looking at. YHA may have safe bike parking (my new bike's cost me a few quid - I'll probably sleep with it ) Not wanting to spend much - just a place to crash-out. If MrsK was there she would be wanting 4*, but just a place to sleep after a beer & curry is all I need... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Went down to Hyde Park for the Black Sabbath / Soundgarden gig recently. Stayed at Beit Hall for £48 a room including breakfast!
Was VERY simple but brilliant. Right next to the Royal Albert Hall. Booked through Travel Republic. Looks like the 4* Hostel only has beds left for females in a female dorm (may be interesting )
I've emailed Beit Hall... Thanks Chaps Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

I'm living on Heathrow's doorstep, can offer a lift into town as early as you like, even if you stay in Windsor if you wish.. Steve
