Advice on sealant for roof
Hi,

I seem to have developed a leak from somewhere on the roof I think.

When it has been a very heavy rainfall when I open the door and drive off, water runs down the inner of the A pillar from behind the plastic trim, so I presume I must have a small crack somewhere? Occassionally a few drops appear on the sun visors too when they are in the down position.

I cannot see anything obvious from the outside.

I plan to remove the headlining and put some sealant in along the joins. I presume this is the right thing to do?

Is the best stuff to use the Sikaflex 252 Structural Sealand & Adhesive, as I have seen mentioned on the forum before.

Any help appreciated as I hve never done anything like this before.

Cheers all.

I had the same problem on both sides. I used Captain Tolley's creeping crack cure. Several weeks with the headling removed and this stuff and no more leaks.
Thumbs Up

Hi,

Great, thank you very much. That looks like it would do the trick.

Cheers.

My experience of Captain Tolleys is that is is very good on fine cracks as it's a very watery consistency which means it gets into cracks with a capillary action. Larger cracks may need something with a thicker consistency. Just a thought!
