You can always add some foam type soft padding material to the inside to make it fit better and reduce the scratching risk You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

I'd also want black stitching, or Brunel Gray maybe. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender |

Valkyrie heavy duty, Baywatch stretch bra. Might start a cult thing.
Getting serious, did MoD/services/forces have bonnet fabric covers of any kind? Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender |

I've never seen a Land Rover with this sort of cover and I don't think the MoD or any commercial user would be concerned about stone chips. Darren

These are widely available in countries with gravel roads such as Aus. NZ, Canada, to protect from flying chippings, they often have little strips on the top to deflect air flow upwards to try to send chippings over the windscreen. This would be a waste of time in a defender with its aerodynamic properties of a house brick on edge!
The LR soft A bar provides pretty good protection to front of bonnet, evidence is deeply imbedded in my A bar. Richard 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |
