So from this picture,
Click image to enlarge below the reversing light there are two bolts that connect the body tub to the cross member. There is a t40 bolt thats a m8 form memory, but there is also a washer, does anybody know the washer part number? I know most people change to stainless fittings, but at present I just want to replace this bolt with the factory one (as mine has one bolt missing) the local LR garage has found the bolt part number and ordered it, but they can not locate the washer part number. Can anybody help? Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

I can't help with the part number, although I suspect you can find it on Land Rover Workshop. However, if that picture is your Defender then I don't think they're the original bolts and washers anyway. The original washers are quite large, around 20mm in diameter, and the bolts have a chunkier head than what your picture appears to show.
This picture shows the originals (bottom) against some stainless ones that I replaced then with, all M8: Click image to enlarge Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? Not my vehicle, dont have one of my car with the missing bolt. Its the original washer that I was trying to locate, on LR workshop I could not locate it, I found the bolt, but according to that there is no washer present (but there is I can see it on all the other bolts ) Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Hmm, ok. You're right in that LRW isn't immediately clear but a quick trawl through the diagrams suggests it's WA108056. Darren

LRW is confusing on this one as the diagrams aren't very consistent in this area, but WA108056 is definitely a flat washer:

Maybe LR044352 - these are the ones used on the front bumper bolts. Measure and check? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

It's one of those annoying inaccuracies with the LR diagrams. Indeed it is not a "star lock washer" as the diagram states. It's a Puma diagram but the nut plate and rivets are shown for earlier vehicles; it's just a copy/paste from the pre-Puma diagram.
I concur WA108056 is probably the one (M8 x 20mm diameter). Let me know if what you order is correct, then I will update the diagram(s). LR Workshop Find a Defender's history and spec: https://defender.lrworkshop.com |

So this is the origional
Click image to enlarge This is the part number that was mentioned above fitted to the bolt Click image to enlarge And the bolt started to be inserted Click image to enlarge I think the search goes on, looks to be still larger in size and also thicker. Now question is do I bother keep buying random washers or go for a replacement set of stainless, new washers and some material in the middle of washer and bodywork to isolate it. What are the best kits for stainless? I guess anodized won’t hold up that well. Though looking at the photo maybe the bolt is wrong, have been fixating on the washer... Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.
