I had a GKN overdrive on my td5, never hardly used it but was good when i did you really felt the difference. Personally just stick with a remap as i tended not to use the overdrive with my td5 mapped

Check that the over drive works ok ( only works over 30mph ) but if you do lots of distance using dual carriage ways or motorways well worth it in my opinion.

I have a 110 TD5 with a GKN overdrive. I use mine pretty much all the time above 50mph as it drops the revs to an acceptable noise level. When I read about them when I bought the 110 I think it's meant to drop the revs by about 25%. Basically I use it like a 6th gear. It does work in 4th as well but I just change up to 5th.
I've not had any issues with mine but I read that they're very expencive to repear or replace (not even made anymore i belive) If mine broke I'd probably just have it taken off. I can't help with the tuning question other than by saying....I'd love one on my 110!!! Strong people are harder to kill and generally more useful! |

Ditto Leeds' comment... I get a lot of stuff from Howard at the salvage yard at the top of King alfred way, he's head helpful.
Havn't used the shop for a while, but used to a lot, and again, helpful. |

The ideal set up
![]() Je have been doing that tune for a while, usually a standard refueling map + larger intercooler. An Overdrive is on my wish list. As Thor says drops rpm making a nice 60mph quiet. An overdrive fitted is around £1500 ![]() ![]() |
