We have launched already a while ago the discussion about the possibility to have an easy way of connecting a Ctek charger to recharge/top up the battery without having to dismantle half the driver (LHD) or passenger (RHD) seat as I have been doing frequently this past winter. One idea was that with an additional 12S towing electric socket there is a permanent live to the battery, and then I discovered that on our sister site Disco3.co.uk our host Martin has a shop section where we can buy an inexpensive adapter for 12S towing socket to a Ctek receiver. So I ordered one a while ago. Must recommend Martin for delivering a prime quality product.
The link to this item is below, and you will see that there is also the option to buy such a adapter for a 13 pin plug for those who have that one. http://www.disco3.co.uk/shop/index.php?act...oductId=45 I have a original tow pack with the 12N trailer socket, so today my dealer added on the left side this 12S socket which is an original LR accessory, and basically job done. Just plug the adapter in the 12S socket, at the other end plug in the Ctek male connector, wire the Ctek up, and charging commences. Very convenient and easy to use. Here are some pictures: The 12S (with white cap) installed to the left of the tow bar Click image to enlarge The webshop's 12S socket adapter with the female original Ctek receiver and the male Ctek connector still unattached Click image to enlarge The whole setup all connected up and working Click image to enlarge For those looking at all the detail, yes it reads Husqvarna on my charger, but it is a 0.8 Ah real Ctek charger for our garden tractor. My Ctek MXS 5.0 is on the way as there was a special offer for those on amazon.de last weekend Click image to enlarge Added recent pictures which give a view of how the 12N and 12S looks now. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |
