Finished a few bits and pieces on Friday.

Painted and re-fitted my fire extinguisher bracket:

Installed some switches and wired up the 12v sockets in my Mud Tray, via a new fuse box under the drivers seats:

Installed a delay relay for the rear wiper:

And inspired by SGH's superb 130, I changed the Brunel coloured grill and headlight surrounds for some black ones:

The latter included re-painting the intercooler grill satin black too.

That's a few things crossed off my list Cool Darren

Drove my series 1 back from Framlingham in Suffolk to Aylesbury in Bucks using as many back roads as possible.

No photos from today but this was it two weekends ago at my wedding!

Had a day at the4x4solutions at Eastwell Manor near Ashford. My first real go at driving off road. Excellent day, lots of tuition, nice site, lovely people.
Came away after being able to drive slopes I would not have dared attempt in the morning. Very impressed with the capabilities of the Defender. Traction control and anti-stall meant the thing mostly drove itself.

Although I may have to remove the tow hitch for next time as this hit on most of the muddy bits.

So far its looking good that I have finally fixed the leak that comes from the roof on the drivers side by the front windscreen. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Bank Hol weekend was away in the North York Moors for a club event. Did a bit of 'testing' in my 90 whilst setting out the trial - revealed a number of things - need to add some spring retainers but on the plus lots of articulation with the setup of HD 2"lift springs and Koni Heavy Tracks. Also Hi-Lo lever needs some adjustment as keeps popping out of low box. All sortable without too much trouble. Roof tent didn't seem to affect the handling off road too much, so that gave us a bit more confidence.....

Slept in the caravan Fri/Sat/Sun nights but decided to give the tent a go on the Monday - even though it was a bit rainy and windy it was warm and dry!

Back home Tuesday for a turnaround - dropped the caravan off, shopping, refuelling and then packing the 90. Off Wednesday PM back to the NY Moors to try out the Howling Moon for the first time proper! Wild and Wet Night, but we survived. Weather better from Thursday PM when we got to the next camp, and lovely day on Friday for the third campsite near Flamborough. All in all a good first outing, got a few things sorted about where to put things, how to pack, a few notes on what we can improve on, etc. Didn't wanna come home! But the 100" Defender needs new floor panels for its MOT, and the house is a tip, so back we came.

Hopefully will be around and about at Peterborough/Brendan's stand next weekend - see some of you there!

Why add spring retainers not spring relocaters?

Just to be safer? Isn't the extra articulation a bonus

Washed the 110. cleaned it inside too, it's spotless now Mr. Green

Even took the rear end door grill off and cleaned the glass inside.

Just need to stop an annoying "bang" that happens whenever I brake at low speed... think it's the front radius arm bushes.

@Andy - not sure whether it will be dislocation or relocation but whatever the springs need to stay in at the top. I don't make those sort of technical decisions - my 'mechanic' does all that for me ! lol ! Our blog - http://landytravels.com/
