I was there in my Defender this morning and then decided to return a couple of hours later in another car that’s not been out since December. And I got an Insta mention by them Click image to enlargeUntitled by Alex L, on Flickr |

Before I changed the boss and steering wheel, the original had lots of play in it, so it wasn't noticeable... When I changed the boss and steering wheel to optimil/momo, the steering wheel sat slightly 'turned' to the left... I took it off, repositions one spline over - then it was way out to the right... I fought over this for a few days in between drives, repositioning between the splines, but made no difference.. Ill have a look at the drag link. If it’s only a spline out (or half a spline, hence trying to find a place between two adjacent positions) then you can fix as follows: 1. Firstly ensure tracking is correct, i.e. toe setting is as desired. I always set mind straight ahead so the front wheels are parallel with the rears. Some string is all that is required to do this. 2. Set wheels in dead ahead position. 3. Slacken the clamps or locknuts on both ends of the drag link* 4. Ensuring the wheels do not move, turn the drag link slightly to move the steering box drop arm left/right as required in order to tweak the steering wheel to the central position. 5. In theory this should also leave the steering box centralised (denoted by the slot at the back of the drop arm), though in practice if this is very slightly out it’s no biggie. 6. Ensuring that the ball joints both ends are in the ‘neutral’ position, retighten the clamps or locknuts. 7. Test drive. Repeat adjustment if necessary. * If your drag link has not been adjusted for some time this can be a big problem, requiring removal from the vehicle and application of heat and oil to free it up on the bench. If in doubt buy a new ball joint for the axle end so that it can be sacrificed in this process. |

Took it to the Harwell ARS Rally at Didcot.
Unfortunately it was a marshalled car park in a school playgound so didn't get to park next to the other 3 defenders that were parked up for the event. 1995 300 Tdi Epsom Green - It's a keeper. Wide Track Sankey- In bits- Gone to a new home M0XQS |

Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Hi, Bought an Exmoor chubby box on EBay and managed to fit it today. Great upgrade and driving position is much more relaxing. Although it wasn’t straight forward since I had to raise the box by 45mm to clear the electrical boxes under he chubby box. Appreciate if You can help me out with couple of questions! 1- Are the electrical boxes under the box diagnostics? 2- On the passenger seat you will see the cables for the dual USBs on the chubby box but I am not sure how to connect them!. I have attached a photo of the connectors, sorry for the poor quality, it was getting pretty dark! cheers. Here are some photos including before and after to see the difference in the height🧐 Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Last edited by Alitaff on 10th Feb 2019 9:21pm. Alitaff what wyvern was suggesting was not to divulge on a public forum whereabouts your tracker is located on your Defender
