Zag
to be honest, it's the bottom of the doors that go but it's worth keeping a can of anti-rust handy for when the central locking solenoids fail and you have to remove the foam. i suppose the other option is to fully submerse the vehicle in waxoyl Last edited by bpman on 10th Jun 2011 9:40pm. Central locking IS the only thing I think is useful but if anything else goes wrong it's going back to simple mechanics - If a leccy window motor goes it's going back to the good old window winder Stupidest invention ever especially on a Defender, more weight more to go wrong

This isn't new to some of us I did mention that getting the membrane off in one piece wasn't easy in a post about accessing the door interior a few days ago. Getting a fine lance into the drain holes and any other easily accessible holes and squirting the anti rust of your choice will do, if you've got a decent spray head it ought to mist up and cover things in there nicely anyway. Leave the doors open to allow any drips to escape avoids runs on the paintwork and onto the side steps.
Same applies to the back door but there's no membrane over that so access to the inside is easy once you've removed the grab handle, escutcheon and door card. Steve. Got a new replacement front bumper under warranty today, and as it was lunch time and I didn't want to wait an hour for the fitters to do it........ they graciously allowed me to do it myself, in the car park

You may have seen mine? I saw a dark green Tdci 130 with military bumpers and a canvas cover over the back, and a 90 on the A40 today heading Oxford direction, I was going the other way. 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |
