Up till 2am this morning working on the 90.
Started with the rear pinion diff seal replacement, which turned into "ill just whip that silencer off and put the replacement pipe on" which then turned into "ill just take the cat off and give it some fettling". Some difference (sound, turbo lag and hopefully one less leak) although not the best of tasks to do all lying on the floor. Does anyone know if theres supposed to be an exhaust gasket at the rear of the mid silencer? The three bolt flange one? William |

Yeah, they sell a stainless jobbie, but to me it doesn't seem like it would be effective without a big blob of sealant anyways. Pov.spec,ftw. 2006, 110,TD5.

Pulled out the drive and the steering felt heavy like the power steering was not working.
Got 400yards down the road and decide all was not well. Flat N/S tyre Broke out the plug-in pump and started pumping the tyre up. After 10mins the tyre was no better. So decided to drive with caution to the garage around the corner. 11psi Pump to 36psi and drove off to go get juice. After filling with juice and queueing up I notice a chap in Jag taking an interest in my front tyre...Yup. You guessed, tyre leaking air So in the forecourt I changed the tyre.....So two things have come from this 1. I need a new plug-in tyre pump (the one I have now, might just be good enough for a bike tyre) 2. Its about time to buy two new BFG AT 235/85 16s 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Swore at it for a while as drivers door lock was frozen solid. Cue getting into it on the passenger side and crawling across. Thawed out by the time i'd finished my journey luckily

Fitted YRM seatbox corner protectors so it looks tidy now. Also replaced a bulb in my Wipac spotlights. Still waiting for an engineer from the insurance company to carry out an assessment of the roof damage. 2007 (57) Defender 90 (Sold)
Looking for another to replace it. The road less travelled.... is a muddy one! |
