Booked the 90 in to Beyond Performance to have new Alive intercooler and hoses fitted at the same time as the Alive Atrics arrives. Looking forward to testing the results before I go off on a navigation event in Donegal on the 19th Thumbs Up

Visited a couple of garages to enquire about the cost of getting two new BFG 235 85 tyres fitted. The first garage said the that 235/85 size didnt not exist and was I sure the size was correct. Eventually gave me a price of £43 for two tyres fitted and balanced.
Went to the next garage and £10 each please. So two new tyres fitted Smile 1999 Defender TD5 110

I've been kicking my heals today, making sure youngest son does his homework instead of stringing it out as per usual so decided to do the keyfob modification where you stick the key blade through a slot you've made in the two button fob. Set to and soon done, glued in with my hot glue gun and very pleased with myself.
That was untill I gathered the boys together to go out this afternoon and I couldn't get the fob to talk to the motor. It would work if I split the casing and held the sides apart a little. so I thought a bit of insulation but still no. I discovered that even if I put a finger on the back of the pcb in the fob it wouldn't work, ended up keeping the parts seperate and look later.
Now later has been and gone I've got it working like a good'un. I had left a fair amount of "top" on the key and now I have ground off pretty much all of it and I'm left with just enough to keep it in position inside the fob held in with hot glue.
Now I'm impressed with myself, it looks tidy and it works Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2009 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Mostly ferried kids and dog around, finally got round changing the air filter and checking the state of the oil filter and sump after I changed oil for the first time about a week ago.

Stratstone rang and quoted me £285 for a service including oil changes. I said we'd just passed 50k miles so it needs to be a type B service -- apparently fine. I queried that and yes, apparently including diff and transfer box, not just checking the levels. I asked if they'd knock some off as I could supply transfer box and diff oil and apparently yes, but they'd have to quote me on the day. Lots of apparently.

Am a bit suspicious, as was expecting £450. 2009 110 XS Station Wagon

replaced winch bumper for standard with forged jate rings, for the simplistic less cluttered look. Front prop also off ready for transfer output bearing replacement.

Today, I got my 2012 Defender 90 XS recovered some 90 miles after unexpectedly losing all Transmission. Sad
So, here I am hoping this is a Warranty repair job even though I bought it second hand 4 months ago.
Otherwise, this is gonna hurt Big Cry
