Has anyone fitted a snorkel/raised air intake other than the Land Rover (aka Mantec) snorkel?
I prefer the look of the Safari (or one of its cheaper copies) but nobody seems to list it for the TDCI motor, which I find strange as surely it is no different to a TDI 300 or TD5 i.e. the vent in the right hand wing is in the same place. I agree with MSE said, have heard of those safari copys that nothing lines up when you fit them.

What's been said. I've got the Mantac and I'm happy with it. There's a new Puma in town and it's got the Safari fitted. Looks like any other Safari snorkel.
The Safari replaces some of the internal plumbing to the air cleaner and has a replaceable head which means you can put a pre-cleaner on the top. Over here we also get Airtec (through TJM) and Airflow which are popular. Airtec are OK but not as good a quality as Safari (My Tdi came with one fitted). Airflow are cheap and I've heard a number of problems with them. 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |

Yes that's the "cheaper" version of the Safari I was thinking of. Saw it at the Billing Land Rover Show this year on the MM stand. Not up to Safari quality but then you get what you pay for. Interesting to hear the comments as that's why I asked, to see if anybody had fitted one and were there any problems. Got no problem with the Mantec in itself, just don't like the styling. And would be happy with the Safari as I had one on a Disco 1 in the past. MAD COW 2007 90 Hard Top - 2009 BMW F800GS - 2002 CCM 604E Dual Sport Project90 |

With the safari one the nuts on the inside of the wing can be awkward to get to if you have abs fitted
