Hi Folks,
would 2nd half of May be a good time to visit Cornwall??? Or will May already be too busy? Toying with the idea of renting a self-catering cottage for 2 weeks down there ... Ideas and suggestions (espc. regarding some potential GreenLaning options) always welcome ... THANKS!!!! Happy New Year to All of You!!! Best Regards, Axel |

Hi Phoenix90, thanks for the info!!! Well ... actually we are still quite flexible regarding the area ... We have found some interesting looking cottages in the Mullion/Helston area, one nice place east of Bodmin and another one north-east of Pendeen approx. half way on the road to Zennor .... Haven't really decided where to go exactly ... Have been to Dorset, London, Essex, Black Country, Manchester, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria a lot of times but unfortunately do not know Cornwall at all .... Any particular region I should be concentrating on??? Thanks again for your help!!! Best Regards, Axel |

I just recently spent the best part of a month down in Falmouth working. It was my first prolonged visit to Cornwall since a childhood holiday many years ago.
I thoroughly enjoyed Falmouth, it's people are laid back and friendly and there are so many eateries and pubs to imbibe in good food and fine ale that I would recommend that area to base your holiday from perhaps? If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Basically North Coast for surfing and South Coast fo sailing, but make sure you don't miss the bit in the middle.
It's a beautiful place any time of the year, just hope it doesn't rain Have a good holiday. 1998 90 50th Anniversary 4.0 V8 2016 90 Adventure 2015 Range Rover Sport 1971 Range Rover 2 Door Wife won't let me have any more...!!! |

We love North Cornwall, particularly Hayle just north of St Ives.
In fact were going down for a week in Feb. Massive dog friendly beach with a couple of self catering apartments on top of the cliff overlooking the whole bay. Quiet, very good local pubs, and if you like walking you won't get better. This is where we stay, http://www.selfcateringstivescornwall.co.uk/ Cheers Shipping is my thing. If we cant shift it, to anywhere, it cant be shifted!! md.couriers@virgin.net |

Axel,
Thought your city rang a bell, I spent four and a half years at Laarbruch. Thoroughly enjoyed it....especially Alpagos the Italian ice cream parlour in Weeze. A 10 Deutsch Mark bucket used to last me about 5 days and did nothing for my waste-line.... If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

Yes ... that's only about 1 hour away from Bochum! ... and "yes" it's shocking what a "little" ice cream can do to a man's body ... ... Know this only too well myself ... Best Regards, Axel Last edited by Axel on 1st Jan 2013 2:04pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Yell when you're down as we're on the north coast at Bude!
Some fab short lanes in the south of the county Lots of lovely places to see - Tintagle, Boscastle, Eden, Helegan, etc... North coast is dramaitc, the middle is mystic moors and the south has calm swimming beaches - something for everyone! Wont be too busy, longish days and no frosts that time of year, but may have the odd shower. Everywhere will be open as Easter is early this year - but most of the visitors are Dutch or German during that period enjoy your stay! We are aiming to head down to Cornwall in June, in my 90 with the roof tent. We want to just do 1 or 2 night camps - working our way down and then back again in about a fortnight. This will be a final test out for getting things in the right place and making sure we have a good routine sorted for our trip to Oz in 2014!
I last went o Cornwall in the late 70s, staying in a chalet at the 'Ladbrooks' Holiday Park on the cliffs just North of Perranporth. It was one of the best hols I had as a kid! So looking forward to re-visiting some fond memories.... Any recommendations for campsites gratefully received. We prefer small quiet sites, not too worried about many facilities, but being within walking distance of a pub that does food is always good so we can get the roof tent all set up then wander off for beer and grub! Pam
Definitely recommend the following for non commercialised with basic but reasonable facilities. Not all in Cornwall but close and on the way. The last one you need to book early as there are only 18 ish pitches and its a superb setting. There are 2 campsites called Dennis Farm, the link below is the one you want. They take Land Rovers with roof tents. Stayed at all three and would definitely go back. http://www.westermill.co.uk/contact_location.php http://www.westcountry-camping.co.uk/ http://m.dennisfarm.wix.com/campsite#!Where%20we%20are|page 2007 TD5 90 Hard Top |
