its in lots of bits again
well got it back form my dealer after they fitted a new head. its still leaking oil and running like a pig had a go at land rover uk again and they said take it for an inspection and test drive at one of the repair centres not a dealer the seem very good they agreed it needed a total respray which the old dealer kept fobbing me off any way gearbox out clutch out transfer box removed. then lets ask land rovers technical department http://www.telltheinternet.co.uk/images/shed.jpg thats where they live when not doing the Yorkshire tea advert i give up now if it fell on its side maybe park it in crime hot spot what do you think |

I really don't know whats happening at some of our dealers, we took ours in for the rusty headlight bezels, washhing it yesterday o/s unit loose in it's mountings another trip back to the dealer, who ever had changed the bezels had broken the locating clips off! said nothing and bodged it up,it's seems one trip for the repair two more for faulty workmanship. 2.4 90 XS

Sad to say but (where possible) you'd be better off getting them to send you the parts and you fit them yourself. That's what I will do from now on. |

Although i have done that - Warranty dont have to and dont always let them/you.
Its true, my defender has probably only ever had 3/4 or maybe 5/6 faults, big and small - no big deal. The problem is the dealers (most not all) it goes in and either doesnt get fixed OR gets fixed and picks up something else, damage, poor workmanship another fault. Mike |

8 trips to get the body work stuff done that was all on the first list and that list was as detailed as i could make it ie 10 cm up and 16 cm in from the bottom left corner of the os front door, and still 8 trips, now 20 trips in and every job has taken at least 2 trips
