Hmmm. Have taken a quick look at those. Made locally too. May have a more in depth look.

Try Peter at First Four, supplies everything you need to install a PTO, control valve, solenoid, winch, standard and made to measure hydraulic tank, etc

The transfer box is still the LT230, and I can't imagine they've changed the internals that much from a well proven working design, so woudl have thought that the PTO would still work,

The hand throttle mod for the Puma is horrendusly expensive, and no you cant use a stick ive tryed If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Hello there,
I'm having my transfer box replaced on my Puma, and the question whether to fit it with PTO dog teeth has been raised... I still can't read a strictly positive or negative answer about the feasibility of it on Pumas.... except there : PTO for TDCI Nakatenga claiming it's a no go... Any confirmation ? Chris |

You can by a PTO Hydraulic kit for pumas on ebay, it fits where the Aircon goes and is belt driven which is probably better than transfer box. Original Member Pie n Pea Club.

I have never understood why the hand throttle for a Puma (or a TD5 for that matter) is so expensive, since with fly-by-wire and an ECU technically it should be failry simple (especially if you don't have to decompile the ECU data to produce it). I can only assume that since unit sales are so low and mainly to utility companies etc who'll pay well over the odds, LR can get away with it. Perhaps there's an opportunity for one of our remap magicians to come up with something affordable. |
