hi seaton,
excellent 90 and i love the series2 ragtop i've retrimed my 300 tdi seats and they are very straight forward to do; and exmoor trim can also help over the phone too. i am very cack handed on anything diy and i managed it with a quite good end result there is plenty of help on here if you get stuck as well. |

Big fan of the S2. Make sure there is security on the new defender, there has been a lot of 'borrowing' lately.
thieving gipsy scum! (No offense intended if any reading this are a gipsy and are on here if you don't steal Landrovers. If you are a gipsy on here and do steal Land Rovers, you probably cant read this, but watch the emoticons ). (Im going to hit your head against a brick wall until you pass out). sorry for the Off topic, had a run in with gipsy's earlier. =================================== Steve 90 xs sw in Stonoway Grey - Sold 110 USW X-TECH |

Well that was an interesting day it seams ive got some forum searching to do as after 200 odd miles ive got my first fault!!!
It will start then either immediately die or idle rough at around 500rpm with the throttle having no input to the engine speed. Edit to add it will run with a bit of excess throttle when starting dut dies when coasting.
Cheers good to know the seat are easy to do, im fine with a spanner or welder but electronics and fiddly trim bits make me nervous! Cheers for the friendly welcome from the rest im already familiar with the Landy wave from driving the series 2. Seaton (off to search out a fix!!!) Last edited by Seaton on 3rd Apr 2013 8:21pm. Looks like ill have a trip to paddocks in the morning to get a new filter, then maybe a trip to see if i can get any codes read.
This looks like what it's doing. if you start it with the throttle partially pressed its goes and pulls as it did previously but some times cuts out again if you let it idle. |

woohoo, tried a new fuel filter with no improvement, took it for diagnosis and had the fuel rail valve and fuel pressure control valve replaced now appears to be running fine. Finger crossed its problem solved!
I can now start looking for wheels n tyres. First pic of it back home Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Hi Seaton and welcome !
Have to say I just love your S2. Perfect colour as well. Although it is blasphemy to say on this forum I've never liked the Series 1. It looks too dinky. The S2, however just captures the whole zeitgeist of Landrover in the last 50 years IMHO. |
