Gents,
I hope I'm being paranoid... Hot idle pressure in my Puma has always been 1.6, since new, no matter which map is running. Since a week or so, this has been 2.0, so I've been checking things, but all is normal - oil level is fine, looks ok, no leaks, etc. Oil pressure when driving 100kmh @ 2000rpm on a flat road in 6th gear is between 5.5 and 6.0. Landy is going in for an oil change in the next week, but should I be worried? Could this be related to the cold weather and fact that coolant temp is not reaching above 86C unlike the usual 91C? Thanks! -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Cold weather - it's getting down to 9C these days What you say makes sense, but why would the coolant not get beyond 86C, nothing has changed on the landy... -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

It was about 29c when I was in Gordon's bay Are you driving enough distance to get to full temp? |

I drive 25km to work. After 10km, at the last traffic lights of the town driving part of my journey, the coolant temp is usually at 90C. I take this as and indication that the engine is at operating temp and I gun it up a long hill. The rest of the trip is open road at 100kmh. Nowadays, even when I get to work the coolant temp is only at 85-86C... -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Hmm, could be, will ask the mechanic to check it out as well. No, R44 by Lord Charles in Somerset West. Not that long, but a nice race uphill none the less. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Hi all,
After an oil change, all appears to be back to normal: the hot idle oil pressure is now at around 1.7-1.8, but jumps around a lot, leading both the indie and myself to conclude that the earth on the Madman unit is probably loose. Coolant temperature is back to normal at 91-93C and there has been no more coolant loss after replacing the cap (no streaks on the bottle either). I have now switched from the stealer-mandated Castrol Magnatec Professional A5 to the Fuchs Titan Supersyn F (http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68918-fuchs-titan-supersyn-f-5w-30-engine-oil-ford-wss-m2c913-c-913c-acea-a5b5.aspx). After the first drive, the engine sounds a lot smoother, and feels a tad livelier. Schalk recommends another oil change in 2500km. Considering 8L of the Fuchs cost R536, this is not bad at all. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

The high oil pressure readings are back
Sometimes before even starting the landy, the unit displays 1.1bar. So I cannot trust it any more, getting it seen to asap. Anyone else keeping readings of their oil pressures? -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

Guys, I just came back from the installer.
We removed the sender, re-crimped everything, checked the earth and then ran another earth directly to the sender itself. This did not solve the issue, still getting weird readings. We phoned LandyOnline, and they said while it's unlikely that a 2-month old send would fail again, we should check the connection harness and the actual connections on the back of the EMS unit. So I'm going to have to take it back to the installer once they get a new harness and sender, just in case either or both needs replacing. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |
