I fitted some to my 2008 110 for towing, then found out that the wind deflectors blocked part of the view on the near side. I now have the larger arms fitted. Don't make old people mad.

I've had some fitted to mine for the past 4years, fitted straight on the original arms, I've replaced both in the past 6 months, broke one on a narrow bridge the the other cracked in the cold weather. The last one was something like 15 quid complete with arm from Craddocks the other head I picked up new from an autojumble for a fiver. I've since put heater pads in them for £8 the pair which according to the ebay seller should be for a Man truck but they were 12v and fitted snugly, sorted.

I would be interested in the method you used to fit the heater pads. Don't make old people mad.

Really simple....they are sticky pads with the elements just stuck on the reverse of the mirror glass. Drilled a hole in the bottom of the head near to the ball socket, 2 wires out , tucked under the arm held in place with a zip clip threaded through a hole drilled in the arm. I then drilled through the door hinge in between the bolts on the door side which allows the wire through to the inside. Taped the wires to the central locking door loom which I then covered in convoluted tubing to help reduce the flexing breaking the wires. I then poked the wires through behind the dashboard to join each side behind the centre console. Finished off with a illuminated rocker switch from Maplins and took a seperate fused(5amp) from a positive supply I allready have in the area. There is no timer, I just rely on the illuminated switch to remind me that they are on, I wanted them switched seperately as they are damn usefull to clear rain and spray off the mirrors without having other things on at the same time such as the heated windscreen or the back screen which I never use anyway. If you're still interested I'll find the fleabay link to the heated pads when I get on the computer, I can't link off my phone.

A friend of mine from Lothian 4x4 Response has a set of the big Paddocks mirrors and swears by them for towing his horses. Maybe a wee bit more wind noise but that's all.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the input, sockpuppet, I saw those and e-mailed Paddock to ask if the head would fit the standard Puma arm but no reply, do you know if it does - I dont fancy changing the arms, looks like they are rivetted to the hinge? Chris 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black. |

To get to the arm fixings you need to undo the door hinge bolts, the nuts are just inside the door easily seen with the door open no need to take off the door card. The mirror arm simply unbolts from the hinge itself. It can just be a bit of a fiddle supporting the door with the top hinge undone.
And yes the head will fit the existing arm. |

I fitted these, I think they are a remake of LR wolf ones.
You will need to be careful to support the door when taking off the hinge, otherwise the door will drop. Paddock supplied the wrong bolts for my captive nuts (Puma) and I stripped one thread before I realised. hence make sure the bolts are correct before fitting. BTW the paint fell off as well, are they sh*tpart? Merlin |

They are out of stock and they don't have a date for more stock, they had my money for 2 weeks and I was chasing them, eventually admitted the stock issue, currently awaiting a refund, so don't order
