Thanks for that John, most helpful! I will definitely tell the garage about the jerkiness and gear changes (which can be fine some days and not so good on others) as the only outstanding Topix issue on mine is Q205 Charge Air Cooler Hose & Coolant Hose Spring. Cheers! Tony |

Hi Tony,
The field service actions are different to recalls and software updates. Recalls are for a safety related issue and the manufacturer has to contact owners by law. Field Service Actions are where the manufacturer chooses to make a modification to the vehicle to stop a problem happening which they're aware of and has affected many vehicles. They can do these whether the vehicle is under warranty or not. (It's worth checking every age of vehicle for outstanding service actions, my next door but one neighbour has just had nearly £1500 of work done to his 1994 P38 Range Rover, FoC as an outstanding action! He only found out after putting it in Topix and the dealer honoured it without question!! Software Updates are not installed as a matter of course, like would happen on an iPhone for example. They can be applied to help rectify a fault or symptom, but if the car doesn't need it or the owner hasn't complained, it won't be installed. It's a bit like an antibiotic. You get a specific type for a specific problem! John. Currently....... all gone...... pending delivery of a mid life crisis....... Previously..... Quite a few! I really am a sucker for them! |

[quote="J8GHX"]PS it's applicable to some 13MY also.
You'll find details of the software patch on Topix, and it shows the chassis number range which it's useful for. John[/quote Which ref number is it, the only one I can find is to do with flat spots when changing gear, nothing specific to slow speed jerkiness or and DPF faults? |
