Mine doesn't open from the outside either. It's always passed its MOT but I'm lucky that the guy that tests mine is very 'sympathetic' towards Defenders
![]() But on this years MOT he did mention that the door should open from the outside. This was followed by a moments silence out of respect for the Defender, and the MOT pass was then granted ![]() |

Take the door off. As long as you still have 2 mirrors it should't fail for no door.
Sorry, not helpful really I know, but I did once take a LR for a test with no doors (it passed), and after my old Tranny failed decades ago due to a defective passenger side seatbelt I unbolted the seat without leaving the premises and passed an instant free retest. |
