Help - Front interior light fuse/
I have managed to blow a fuse (I think) for my front interior light.

accidently shorted it while fiddling with the connections for the led array.

rear one still works which makes me think they are fused separately. pondering the logistics of this whilst typing.

anyway, I have been through both fuse boxes and cannot find a dead fuse.

any ideas please

mine is one of the last 2.4xs 90's

thanks in anticipation

under the dash mate, does your radio still work as the front light should share the same fuse Thumbs Up CSK Automotive

If your putting led lights/bulbs in I think they have to be fitted the correct way around or they won't work.

DAZ is correct Thumbs Up LED's do need to go in the correct way round.

If the light does not work and no blown fuse then take the bulb out and put it in the other way round.

Chris, radio still works.

DAZ, good thinking, and something I neglected to check.

just been outside to have a look, switched the light off to ensure I didn't accidently short it again, swapped the connections around but no joy, looked around to check on the other light in the back and that one wasn't on either. I know it has been working because I have been having to reach behind me to turn it on when I want to find something in the dark.

anyway, started putting the front cover back on and the light has come on but very dimly. suspect it is a bad earth somewhere but not sure where to look.

Just fitted lit sun visors and had to have the assembly out. There are two earthing points - one is black cable/connector going to the metal backplate on the inside of the headliner, and the other is the right hand nut that clamps/earths the light assembly to the back plate through the headliner. Perhaps check both - and the live connector (purple wires).

Forgot to mention - make sure you remove the fuse before unmounting the light assy - there are bare (permanent) live rails on the backside which will blow the fuse if (or rather when Embarassed ) they touch the studs on the backplate.

Matt Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
