Oil for Puma with dpf
Came across this. Seems it is formulated to use with the dpf fitted Puma engine. Might be of interest to someone.

DESCRIPTION
This is a very high quality motor oil, especially developed for the requirements of Ford WSS-M2C-913-C specification. It is characterized by significantly improved lubricating properties and provides Fuel Economy (>3%). This oil replaces the M2C-913-A/B specifications.

APPLICATIONS
Essential for all Ford models (gasoline and diesel, also those with diesel particulate filters) from 2009 onwards, with the exception of the models which are equipped with pump injectors (Galaxy I & II) and Ford KA (diesel and gasoline from 2009).

Interesting, and cheap. I eventually bought some Shell Helix Diesel Ultra AF-L 5W-30 Fully Synthetic Low SAPS From olpie for my new 2.2 so that I could do an early life oil change. I simply could not get any sensible answer out of any of my local Land Rover main dealers as to which oil I should use since it had a DPF. The answers were mixed and very different, including;

* It just comes out of big drums in the workshop, but its good stuff honest.
* any old 5/30 will do for the defender
* must be castrol magnatec slx

So, I contacted ŁR customer services direct. They spoke with their men with big glasses and here is the email extract

"Further to our recent conversation, I have, on your behalf spoken to our technical team regarding the oil for and 'early life oil change'. They have advised me that the correct oil to use is 5W/30 – WSS–M2C934–B."

Some dealers did say they would use Castrol Edge but as far as I could see it doesn't conform to the above Ford standard. So, I bought Shell Ultra AF-L from olpie which definitely meets that standard just to be sure.

I was just astounds that all but 1 of at least 6 main dealers seemingly got it wrong or didn't think it important because it was a defender and not a performance vehicle.
