Well, today I the very first refill of the 130. Fuel consumption is way off to the bad side compared to the vw van I used to have. the grin on my face makes it all worth though...
Anyways, when I wanted to take of the filer cap I ended up holding the cover and the loose cilinder of the lock in my hands. Figured out a way to attach it all to the rest of the filler cap again that was still in the hole where you fill it up. After refilling I reassembled the filler cap and turned it on and voila. The top end came loose again. Managed to repeat the procedure and drove home, where I found out some fuel had leaked out from it. I guess this is the British engineering I was looking for again, after one year of boring Volkswagen touring? |

Crying wouldn't have helped me anyway.
Need to have a look at it tomorrow though. Don't really like the idea of reassembling the fuel filler cap twice a week for the coming fifteen or more years I plan to keep this car. |

A brand new truck.... So it is the first dealer job for solving such issues free of charge.... You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Well, discovered it had to do with the filler opening. Temporarily fixed by them, but they will be picking up and returning the car when they have the ordered parts. Can't be more happy with this kind of service!
